Giraffe Experience

Minimum booking is for 2 people, maximum booking is for 8 people.

Don’t miss this tall opportunity for a whole new perspective of giraffe. From ground level, marvel at the height of the tower (group) of giraffe. Hear some tall tales of how we care for giraffe at Auckland Zoo. With your expert animal keepers, you will have the opportunity to tempt the tower over for their favourite snacks. Remember to bring your phone or small handheld camera to be able to snap and share your Experience.

Every Experience will be unique. Individual animals have the choice on how they participate in Experiences.

Booking this Experience helps to support our important wildlife conservation work, with a portion of your purchase going towards conservation efforts here and in the wild.

What’s included:

• Your Experience will start with a safety briefing
• You will then enter the staff only area with a zoo keeper for approximately 20 minutes where you will see the giraffe habitat from a new perspective
• Discover how we care for the giraffes, their diet, and natural behaviours
• Feeding opportunities if the giraffe choose to participate
• Photo opportunities inside the giraffe habitat
• All-day Zoo access

Other useful information:

• Spectators can watch the Experience from the visitor area outside the habitat (normal Zoo admission applies)
• All participants on this Experience must be able to walk well on uneven and steep terrain
• Covered shoes MUST be worn
• Please arrive to Auckland Zoo at least 30 minutes prior to your Experience to allow time to check in and time to walk to the meeting point

All participants must be at least 6 years old, and children under 15 years of age must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Annual pass members can book here but must present valid I.D. to receive discount.
